Vocabulary

1. Observation: the act of noticing or paying attention.

            Ex: he reported his observations to the mayor. 




2. Emphasize:to stress, single out as 


important.
          Ex: My mom emphasizes exercise in addition to a change in diet.


3. Reaction: a response that reveals a person's feelings or attitude.
         Ex: he was pleased by the audience's reaction to his performance.

4. Define: give a definition for the meaning of a word        
       Ex: Mr. Patrick told me to define the word "happiness" .

5. Tersely:  same meaning of summary
        Ex: He tersely tell me one short word that make me love him so much.


6. Breach:a hole
       Ex: I used the stick and breached the paper.


7. Riveted: I was reverted listen to my what my teacher was teaching.   


8. Vigil: A period of alert watchfulness during normal sleeping hours.
      Ex: I keep vigil every five minute at night because it will make me easy to sleep.

Literary Focus " Camp Harmony"

#4 : Analyze Sone describes her mother as " poetic and yet so practical." State one example from the text that illustrates each quality. 

• Poetic: She was very happy when she saw dandelions growing up on the floor and she didn't let anyone pick them up. She wanted to plant them and wanted to open the garden in their room where the dandelions grow.

• Practical: Mother and Father roamed out to see what folk were doing. They found people wandering in the mud. She was happy because the latrine is right there and she didn't need to walk far.
